Business Development Manager

Overview

The BDM will work along side a team of Business Development Managers and Storage Architects to drive revenue and gross margin within a Compellent Sales Region. The BDM is the business owner of his/her territory and is responsible for growth and orchestrating all available Compellent resources including System Architects, Marketing, Engineering, and Sr. Management.


Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all Revenue and Gross Margin in assigned territory
  • Develop Strategies and Execute tactical plans within the assigned territory
    • Identify, engage, and execute agreements with Business Partners who meet desired Compellent profile
    • Responsible for driving "Partner Development" including early success, pipeline development and self-support
  • Drive market and product feedback through Technical Services and Engineering

  • Business Partner and End User Satisfaction

Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Arts, Science, or equivalent
  • At least 5 years channel sales and/or direct sales experience
  • Successful track record of selling hardware and software based solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a territory through channel partners, relationships, knowledge and credibility, and intrinsic problem-solving skills
  • Strong Customer & Industry References

Preferences
  • Storage Sales experience
  • Clear understanding of storage market trends and issues

Compensation
  • Base + Commission + MBO commensurate with experience. Stock Option Plan.
