Responsibilities
- As a Migration Specialist, you will interact with both technical and non-technical personnel and must be able to communicate effectively via telephone, in writing, and in person.
- The Migration Specialist will develop, and maintain services best practices documentation for migration and other professional services. Development of these best practices will include lab testing and validation of Compellent migration processes with various operating systems and storage arrays.
- Migration Specialists will work closely with the Business Development Managers and Storage Architects in developing services proposals, including technical scoping, project planning, and statement of work development.
- Migration Specialists will work closely with Compellent Business Partners and Services Partners to train, assist with, or plan and perform onsite data migrations.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, 2 year technical degree, or equivalent working experience.
- Minimum 6 – 9 years systems administrators experience in Windows, and Unix platforms.
- Windows and Unix platform Cluster experience.
- Minimum 6 – 9 years storage administrators experience is desirable.
- Strong IP background is a plus.
- SAN technology and Open systems technology.
- Experience with switch fabric configuration, monitoring, and support is required.
- Network operating system certifications with Novell, Microsoft, Linux, or Sun are a plus.
- MS PowerShell experience a plus.
