- Compellent Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: CML) today announced president and CEO, Phil Soran, will present a preview of the future of storage technologies during his keynote. Soran’s speech will take place at Compellent’s annual conference, C-Drive, on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 8AM CT.
- Compellent attributes its continued growth to a positive aggressive culture, driven by a spirit of enthusiasm, ethics, entrepreneurship and efficiency.
- The keynote will include insight on Compellent’s dynamic block architecture, design for persistence and outlook for 2009 and beyond, as well as trends impacting the industry:
- 2008 highlights – Compellent’s technology leadership in eliminating storage waste and reducing administrative overhead has led to Compellent become the fastest growing SAN company two years running.
- The “flight to efficiency” – storage efficiency is being cited as one of the biggest drivers for companies determining their storage spend this year and beyond.
- Technology innovations – Enterprise solid state drives (SSDs) paired with automated tiered storage, and advancements replication technology.

C-Drive 2009 attendance increased 25 percent over last year, and comprised channel partners, media, analysts and customers, with attendees traveling from as far away as China and Australia.
- Compellent will host a CIO Roundtable during the Customer Conference portion of C-Drive to include business technology leaders who will share insight into real-world issues, including how IT and storage continue to enhance business value.
- An Industry Partner Roundtable will feature representatives from Cisco, Intel and Microsoft discussing strategies for automating the data center.
- C-Drive’s Partner Summit earlier this week featured a Channel Partner Roundtable moderated by Joe Kovar of CRN, focused on strategies for selling storage in a down economy.
