The first few days of the VMworld show in San Francisco have been outstanding. Over 17,000 people are in attendance. Compellent has come in full force with a huge booth showing off our Fluid Data Architecture with live running hardware and demonstration “pods”. Yesterday, I co-presented a session with Craig Miller, our customer from BioWare. I outlined the features of Compellent and Craig discussed how he has integrated Storage Center and VMware in his data center. It is a very impressive story as 12 months ago, Craig was not virtualizing any of this servers. Now, they are 60% virtual on their way to 100% by March of next year. This morning, we had a press conference with VMware and our customer Heineken. They replaced their older storage array with Storage Center and are getting better performance with less disk drives, saving on power, cooling and improving application response times. Tonight is the big VMworld party, it should be a lot of fun.
