Compellent Leads Storage Area Network Vendors in End User SurveyMay 30, 2007
Midsize Enterprise Customers Give Compellent the Best Ratings for Innovation, Customer Satisfaction Among SAN Vendors in TheInfoPro's Storage Study
Eden Prairie, Minn., May 30, 2007 — Data storage professionals said Compellent’s strategic vision, innovation, and product value and features are rated among the best established storage area network (SAN) vendors, according to the recently released Wave 9 Midsize Enterprise Storage Report by TheInfoPro1, an independent research network for the IT industry.
The study, which details storage technology adoption trends, management techniques and vendor performance data, showed Compellent's ratings exceeded the mean scores for all other SAN vendors on both the "Promise" and "Fulfillment" Indexes. Other SAN vendors rated within the most recent study included EMC, Hitachi Data Systems, HP, IBM and Sun.
"This research captures the feedback from Storage decision makers on the products they have already purchased - straight talk that can be quantified and compared between groups of similar vendors," said Robert Stevenson, TheInfoPro's Managing Director, Storage Research.
The Promise Index measures customer ratings on each vendor's technical innovation, competitive positioning, strategic vision and reputation; the Fulfillment Index measures product value, quality, delivery as promised and technical support. Compellent's Promise Index score was 84 out of 100, while the mean for all vendors was 69. Compellent's Fulfillment Index score was 84 out of 100, while the mean for all vendors was 70.
Increased Industry Recognition and Leadership
Six months ago in the Wave 8 Study, IT pros talked about Compellent's strong promise. Now in Wave 9, the number of respondents using Compellent's technologies in the study more than doubled.
"We've found that enterprise storage professionals are building out tiered storage, archiving and disaster recovery initiatives to manage their storage growth, capacity planning and reporting needs," continued TheInfoPro's Stevenson. "The study participants' citations of Compellent’s strengths in these areas indicate a major reason why Compellent is growing and establishing leadership in the industry."
Since its introduction in early 2004, Compellent's Storage Center SAN has attracted more than 600 customers and an international network of channel partners.
