Company's First Outside Director Brings 30-Years Finance and Investment Banking Expertise
Eden Prairie, Minn., May 24, 2007 — Compellent today announced that Sven Wehrwein has been appointed to its board of directors. As the company's first outside director, Mr. Wehrwein will serve as chair of the audit committee.
Mr. Wehrwein has been a financial consultant to emerging companies since 1999. Previously, he was chief financial officer at business networking devices provider Digi International, and InStent, before it was acquired by Medtronic. Before he joined InStent in 1995, he spent 14 years in investment banking, including serving as managing director of Drexel Burnham Lambert, and Wessels, Arnold and Henderson. He began his career as a certified public accountant on the audit staff of Coopers & Lybrand.
"Sven's 30 years experience in finance, accounting and management will be a tremendous asset to Compellent, as we continue to lead in delivering modular enterprise storage," said Phil Soran, CEO and president. "His stewardship and expertise will be critical to our success, and will greatly complement the experience of our other board members."
Mr. Wehrwein also serves as an independent director on the board of directors of Image Sensing Systems, Synovis Life Technologies, Uroplasty, Inc., and Vital Images. He has a bachelor's degree from Loyola University in Chicago, and a master's degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management in Cambridge, Mass.
