HealthPartners Central Minnesota Clinics Selects Compellent Storage Area Network for HIPAA Compliance and Improved Availability of Patient Data July 25, 2005
Compellent’s Data Instant Replay ensures uninterrupted access to electronic medical records through unlimited snapshot frequency and flexibility
Minneapolis, July 25, 2005 — Compellent Technologies, a provider of modular, affordable storage solutions distributed exclusively through a select national network of business partners, today announced HealthPartners Central Minnesota Clinics has selected Compellent’s Storage Center™ storage area network (SAN) to deliver continuous data recovery capabilities and meet Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) guidelines for disaster recovery planning.
Ensuring continuous protection and availability of online patient data became a priority when HealthPartners Central Minnesota Clinics implemented an electronic medical record in 2001.

Compellent’s Data Instant Replay enables Weiss to roll back time and recover from potential data hazards in just minutes by creating an unlimited number of space-efficient, point-in-time copies called “replays” that allow instantaneous restoration of data through a simple point-and-click interface.
Weiss has set Storage Center's automated Replay software to initiate and manage more than 50 Replays per week. Replays consume only minimal storage space and do not impact the system's performance.
